Why Do You Need Tennis Lessons?
I recently started to play tennis. Since I needed some way to get into better shape this seemed like a good idea. My husband plays tennis regularly so I thought it would be something that we could do together, and get some exercise. Also it doesn't look very hard, you're just hitting a ball right? Wrong. After a few games of chasing that little furry ball all over the court and missing it 9 times out of 10 I decided to get myself some tennis lessons. Luckily our local community centre had a nice court and offered weekly lessons in the spring and summer to all skill types.
Our mid-size town also happens to be home to a few former tennis professionals, and they periodically offer group lessons for a reasonable amount. In case you are not in an area that hosts tennis pros, don't fret, there are many other places to find tennis lessons. Occasionally if you look hard enough you can even find places that offer free lessons.
Check out local sporting complexes, tennis courts, gyms, YMCA and YWCAs to find lessons. Sometimes you can even join tennis leagues and get member benefits. If you are worried about fitting tennis into your busy day keep in mind that there are many tennis courts that are lit at night so you can have that post dinnertime game.
Whether you are a beginner or have been playing for a while, get some new equipment to take to your tennis lessons. You need a tennis racket that is of good quality and will take a beating. A good racket will also help you play better, and will help improve your game. Don't forget to get the proper attire. The more you feel like you are a tennis player, the better you are going to play.
Even if you have played tennis before, you may wish to consider taking tennis lessons to help you improve. Or you can search the Internet for tennis playing pointers. They can give you an extra edge to your game that maybe you didn't have before. Some tennis forums also offer message boards where you can find someone to play with too.
